HOLDING AND TRANSFERRING CALLS

To Place an External Call on System Hold

While on a CO line call either, press the Hold key, or select "System Hold" on the display.
The caller is placed on hold and Music on Hold is returned.
To retrieve the call, select "Return To Line" on the display or press the line key.
Other extensions can retrieve the call by pressing the line key associated with the call.
You can continue to use your phone with the call on hold.
The call on hold will recall after 90 seconds if it has not been picked up by another extension.
This time is programmable. See page 108.
Note: If an extension has two calls on system hold, selecting "Return To Line" will return the
extension to the first call that was put on hold.
You can place a call on system hold from a standard analog phone.
Press the Recall (R) key on your telephone when you are on an external call.
Replace the handset. You can continue to use your telephone.
The held call will recall after 90 seconds provided your telephone is idle. If you are busy
on the telephone after the 90 seconds, the call will ring when the handset is replaced.
To retrieve the call placed on system hold, lift the handset and dial the code 719.

Associated Hold

Calls are placed on Associated Hold when you initiate a transfer or consultation call.
Calls on associated hold cannot be picked up by other extensions.
The caller is returned Music on hold.
If you go on hook, with a caller on associated hold, the held call rings your phone immediately.

Music-on-Hold Options

When an external call is placed on hold, you can choose between supplying music, a tone, or
silence to the caller. The music source can be internal, in which case it is integrated into the
system and cannot be changed, or external, in which case an external source must be
connected to your system.

To Supply Music, Tone or Silence to Callers on Hold

From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "System Programming" is displayed.
Select "System Programming".
Enter the System Programming Password and select "System".
Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Music On Hold" is displayed.
Select "Music On Hold".
Select the option ("Internal Source", "External Source", "Tone On Hold" or "Silence") that
you want. The default is "Internal Source" and the "♦" indicates the current program
setting. Internal callers are always returned "Tone On Hold".
If external source is selected, the extension menu is displayed. Select the extension that
the external music-on-hold module is connected to.
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.
