Command Modes
Global Configuration mode.
User Guidelines
The priority value must be a multiple of 4096.
The bridge with the lowest priority is elected to be the Root Bridge.
Example
The following example configures spanning-tree priority to 12288.
Console(config)# spanning-tree priority 12288

spanning-tree disable

The spanning-tree disable Interface Configuration mode command disables spanning-tree on a specific
port. To enable spanning-tree on a port use, the no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree disable
no spanning-tree disable
Default Configuration
By default, all ports are enabled for spanning-tree.
Command Modes
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode.
User Guidelines
When STP is disabled, the device will not forward STP BPDU's based on the Forward BPDU's setting.
Example
The following example disables spanning-tree on g5.
Console (config)# interface ethernet g5
Console (config-if)# spanning-tree disable
