speed
The speed Interface Configuration mode command configures the speed of a given Ethernet interface
when not using auto-negotiation. Use the no form of this command to restore the default.
Syntax

speed {10| 100 | 1000}.
•
no speed
•
10 — Force 10 Mbps operation.
•
100 — Force 100 Mbps operation.
•
1000 — Force 1000 Mbps operation.

Maximum port capability.

User Guidelines
•
The command 'no speed' in port-channel context returns each port in the port-channel to its
maximum capability.
Example
The following example configures the speed operation of Ethernet g5 to force 100-Mbps operation.
Console(config)# interface ethernet g5
Console(config-if)# speed 100
duplex
The duplex Interface Configuration mode command configures the full/half duplex operation of a given
Ethernet interface when not using auto-negotiation. Use the no form of this command to restore the
default.
