5.3.1
PVT Equipment
The PVT requires a power source, the electrical test setup, and the wet test setup as detailed below.
The optics test block and turns counter are available as alternatives to wet testing.
Equipment available from standard sources:
O Digital multimeter (DMM), Fluke® Model 77, or equivalent
A
Seiko® DPU411, DPU414
or Kodak Diconix 150 Plus printer (if printout of electrical test
desired), (refer to System Operating Manual for Printer Setup)
Qi Four AA batteries
Di "Wet" test setup (if optics block, turns counter, or torque brake are not available)

Quick-Load™ cartridge set

20 mL graduated cylinder w/0.2mL graduations

Fluid reservoir
Equipment available from Abbott Laboratories (refer to the Spare Parts Price List):
5-8V microbox with 12V power supply, battery substitution block, and AC substitution cable
Battery substitution block
AC substitution cable
3.6 oz-in torque brake fixture with 18V power supply
Optics test block
Turns counter with 12V power supply and cartridge housing
Printer cable for Seiko or Kodak printers (if printout of electrical test desired)
Cartridge housing (for use with turns counter and current supply test)
AC power supply list 13586 (if desired for 24-hour burn-in test)
Quick-Load™ cartridge set (for "wet" test if optics block, turns counter, or torque brake are not
available)
5.3.2
Electrical Test
This test uses the pump's software diagnostic mode to perform a final acceptance test procedure
(ATP). The AIM and AIM Plus share the same Service Mode Diagnostic with the following
exceptions: the Keypad Test for the AIM Plus requires an exact sequence of key presses and AIM
Plus contains an Encoder Test while the AIM does not. These differences are noted again under the
specific test sections.
5.3.2.1
Recording Test Results
The pump will display a message asking you to respond YES for PASS or NO for FAIL after each
step of the electrical test is completed. These answers are logged to the pump's memory and may be
printed at the end of the test. This printout may be attached to the PVT Data Form (refer to Section
5.3.8) as part of the test record. There is also space provided on the PVT Data Form for recording this

information, if desired.
