Encoder Test - AIM Plus Only
Perform either Dry or Wet Test.
Section 5, Maintenance and Service Tests
The AIM Plus Encoder Test requires a turns counter and cartridge housing or primed PROVIDER set
and 20 mL graduated cylinder.
A Dry Test Setup (with turns counter):
- Install the cartridge housing on the motor frame to defeat the occlusion and check
cartridge alarms.
- Connect the turns counter to the pump's motor shaft extension.
- Press RST on the turns counter to reset the display to 0.0.
A Wet Test Setup (with primed PROVIDER set):
- Install a primed set into the motor frame.
- Place the proximal end of the set into a water source.
- Place the distal end of the primed set into the mouth of a 20 mL graduated cylinder.

Press [START] to begin delivery. The volume infused will begin to
accrue.
Pump will run until 20 mLs are delivered.
Verify that the RATE reading is 396.0 - 404.0 mL/hr.
Verify that the TIME reading is 178 - 182 secretary.
For Dry Test:
Verify that the turns counter volume reading is 19.3 - 20.2 mL.
For Wet Test:
Verify that the volume delivered to cylinder is 19.8 - 20.2 mL.
Press [NO] to exit.
If using the PVT Form, record the results. ©
Press [YES] to indicate PASS and go to the next test, [NO] to exit
the FINAL ATP, or press [BACK-UP} to repeat the test.
Press [YES] to exit the FINAL ATP.
