Section 5, Maintenance and Service Tests
Battery Compartment
-
Verify presence of battery door and condition of PCB contact.

Inspect legibility of battery polarity labels.
-
Verify condition of battery contacts.
-
Inspect door/case interface for cracks and breakage.
-
Install batteries, move power switch to ON position and insure unit enters self diagnostic
mode.

Accessories Inspection
Inspect the accessories as follows:
Rechargeable Battery Pack
-
Ensure that the pack slides fully into place and that it locks firmly to the pump.

Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON and verify that the unit powers on. Slide the switch to
the OFF position.
AC Power Supply
-
- - Check the cord for damage or fraying; confirm a connection to the adapter box.

Remove the batteries. Connect the AC power adapter to the power jack. Verify that the
connector fits firmly into the power jack.

Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON and verify that the unit powers on.
-
Verify that the alarm LED (next to the alarm icon) flashes on, then off. Verify that the
AC power LED (next to the plug icon) flashes on and remains lit. Slide the switch to the
OFF position.
Remote Bolus Cord and Switch
-
Confirm a connection and check the cord and bolus switch for damage.
-
Verify that the connector fits firmly into the bolus jack.
-
Verify that bolus plug pin is not bent.
Printer and Printer Cable
-
Inspect the printer cable for damage.
-
Inspect the connections to the pump and printer; check the pins for damage.
-
Inspect the printer following the manufacturer's recommendations.
