C41 (Use of FI indicator light)
Step
1
1) Turn off the ignition switch.
2) Remove the left frame cover. Refer to "Exterior Parts
Removal and Installation" in Section 9D (Page 9D-1).
3) Check the ECM coupler (1) for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then measure the FP relay input voltage.
4) Disconnect the ECM coupler.
5) Insert the needle-point probe to ECM coupler.
6) Measure the voltage between terminal "14" and ground.
Special tool
(A): 09900–25008 (Multi circuit tester set)
(B): 09900–25009 (Needle-point probe set)

Engine General Information and Diagnosis:
Yes
• FP relay (ECM)
malfunction.
• O/G or R/B wire open
or shorted, or poor
terminal "14" or "15"
connection.
• If the wire and
connection are OK.
intermittent trouble or
faulty ECM.
• Recheck each
terminal and wire
harness for open
circuit and poor
connection.
• Replace the ECM
