[Mixed Size Original] cannot be used in
combination with the [Scanning Size], [Book
Shadow Erasure], [Page Split], [Combine],
[Image Repeat], [Booklet], [Page Border],
[Overlay], or [Add Cover] options. (p.63

You can use any combination of the original
size when scanning on the platen glass.
Use the [Mixed Size Original] option when
scanning originals of different sizes on the
platen glass and collating the pages.
The message that prompts you to set [Auto
Image Rotation] to [OFF] is displayed when
[Mixed Size Original] and [Auto Image
Rotation] are set to [ON] or when [Staple],
[Punch], or [Binding Margin] is set to [ON].
Touch [OK] to change [Auto Image Rotation] to
[OFF] or touch [Cancel] to leave the current
setting ([ON]) as it is.

Set [Paper Selection] to [Auto].

Book Shadow Erasure

This function removes the shadows that appear in
the center (inner margin) when scanning a book or
other bound documents.

When placing a book on the platen glass,
place it top side up and aligned with the arrow
at the upper left of the glass surface. This
function cannot be used with the book placed
vertically or at an angle.
You cannot use [Book Shadow Erasure] with
[ADF Scan & Pause] or [Mixed Size Original]
at the same time. (p.65 "ADF Scan & Pause",

[OFF], [10mm] (3/8"), [20mm] (13/16"), [30mm]
(1 3/16"), [40mm] (1 9/16"), [50mm] (1 15/16")

Touch [Book Shadow Erasure].

Select the erasure width.
