Installing and Uninstalling the Printer Driver

If you want to send data from a computer to print
on this machine, you must first install the printer
driver onto the computer.

Log in as a user with administrator privilege.
Close all active applications.
Use the uninstaller to uninstall the application.
For more information, see the "Administrator's
Guide".
If you are using macOS or Linux, install the
optional PS kit. For more information on how
to install the PostScript printer driver, see "PS
Kit" (p.220) in "Optional Equipment".
For US customers
Selecting "English" as the preferred language
and "inch" as the unit of length will apply inch
size paper [LETTER size] as a default setting.
The default paper size can be altered after
finishing of installation.

Operating Environment

The recommended system requirements for
activating the printer driver are described in the
table below:

Installing

To update the printer driver, uninstall the
current printer driver before updating. (p.51
"Uninstalling")
Load the included DVD-ROM in the

computer's DVD-ROM drive.
The installation wizard automatically starts up. If the
installation wizard does not start up, double-click the
"Install.exe" file on the DVD-ROM.

Select the series of your printer in

the pull-down menu and click [OK].
Select the desired language in the

pull-down menu and click [OK].
Click [Next].

Follow the on-screen instructions to

configure the settings.

[Duplex / Simplex] is set to [Duplex (Long
Edge)] as the default, which enables
duplex printing. (p.108 "Duplex/Simplex")
When the message for printing a

test page is displayed, click [Yes].
Confirm that the test page is printed

correctly and click [OK].

Pressing [Show "ReadMe" text.] displays
the "Readme" screen that includes
precautions for using the machine. Be
sure to read this information.
When a message that prompts you to
update the status of the machine appears,
click [OK] and set the printer configuration
under the [Environment] tab after
installation. When you added an optional
equipment to the machine, you also need
to set the printer configuration. When
optional equipment is connected, first
configure the settings to use certain
functions. The unavailable functions are
grayed out. (p.127 "[Environment] Tab")
Click [Finish].

If the printer driver is installed over the existing one,
the computer restarts.

If you do not want to restart the computer
now, remove the check mark from the
[Restart now] check box before clicking
[Finish].
