Once the switches are set properly, open a serial terminal application, and select the higher
numbered COM port. Conf igure the higher numbered COM port as f ollows:

Open a second serial terminal application and connect to the DA16200 debug console and run the
reboot command. The f ollowing output will appear in the DA14531 debug console:

NOTE
The uart_program_da16200 in followed section can be used for debug console of DA16200 but it cannot be
used with DA14531. Other console program like tera term or minicom cab be used for DA14531 debug
console.

Programming Firmware Images
When using an EVB f or the f irst time, the f irmware must be updated to the latest version.
Prebuilt versions of the f irmware f or DA16200 and DA16600 can be downloaded f rom the Renesas
Electronics' website. Go to the Renesas website
connectivity/wi-f i/low-power-wi-f
DA16600 FreeRTOS SDK Image" or type it in the search box, and then select the f irmware and
download. Alternately, the DA16200/DA16600 SDK can be used to rebuild the f irmware images as
described in Section
5.
There are two f irmware images f or the DA16200:
DA16200_FBOOT-GEN01-01-834dea5b8_W25Q32JW.img
DA16200_FRTOS-GEN01-01-866facc56-000000.img
There are three f irmware images f or the DA16600 since it also requires the DA14531 f irmware
image:
DA16600_FBOOT-GEN01-01-834dea5b8_AT25SL321.img
DA16600_FBOOT-GEN01-01-834dea5b8_W25Q32JW.img
