Your Matrox Iris GT is a network-aware device. The terminology used throughout
this reference mirrors that for Local Area Networks (LANs).
In this reference, any computer that can communicate with your Matrox Iris GT
is referred to as a client computer. Whenever referring to a client computer with
full access to the various services of your Matrox Iris GT, that client computer is
referred to as your computer.
If you use the client computer to develop your applications for your Matrox
Iris GT, it is referred to as your development computer. Note that a development
computer should have a licensed copy of Matrox Design Assistant (for more
information, refer to Matrox Design Assistant online help).
References to the submenu items of the Windows Start menu in this manual refer
to the folders listed beneath the All programs menu of Microsoft Windows XP.

This section list the minimum requirements for your computer so that you can
use your Matrox Iris GT with Design Assistant, and access the Matrox Iris portal
website. This section also describes Matrox Design Assistant installation details.

The following lists the minimum requirements for your computer so that you can
use your Matrox Iris GT smart camera:
(installed in your computer) with an RJ45 connector, installed and functioning
Ethernet drivers, and a configured TCP/IP communication network protocol.
