To use your Matrox Iris GT, perform the following:
1. Connect a power supply and your third-party I/O devices to the Digital I/O and
power connector of your Matrox Iris GT.
If you have purchased the Matrox Iris GT starter kit, use the open-ended digital
I/O and power cable and the breakout board, included in the kit, to make the
connections. For instructions, refer to the Powering Matrox Iris GT and connecting
its I/O signals to the breakout board section, in Appendix E: The breakout board.
If you have not purchased the Matrox Iris GT starter kit, use a custom cable with
a M12 male 17-pin connector at one end.
2. Connect your Matrox Iris GT to your network or your computer (peer-to-peer)
using a standard M12 8-pin network cable. If you have purchased the Matrox
Iris GT starter kit, this cable is included in the kit; otherwise you will have to
purchase one from a third-party.
Connect the M12 connector of the M12 8-pin cable to the 100/1 GbaseT
connector of your Matrox Iris GT. Connect the other end into the network
connector of your network/computer.
3. After making the network connection, you might need to configure your Matrox
Iris GT so that it can communicate with your network or computer.
If you connected your Matrox Iris GT to your network, refer to Chapter 3:
Configuring your Matrox Iris GT to work on a network.
If you connected your Matrox Iris GT directly to your computer, refer to
Chapter 4: Configuring your Matrox Iris GT to work with your computer directly.
