R S - 2 3 2 s e r i a l c o n n e c t o r
The RS-232 serial connector is a male DB-9 connector. It connects to your
development computer using a null-modem cable. It allows the Matrox Design
Assistant SerialReader and SerialWriter steps to send and receive RS-232 messages
from your Matrox Iris GT, via the J13 and J14 terminal block connectors of the
smart camera connector.
To view the operating system's console output information using a terminal
emulator program, such as Hilgrave's Hyper terminal, enable the POST (Power
On Self Test) string print option in either the Matrox IrisBootParams utility or
the COM port availability section on the Boot settings page, accessible from the
Administration page of the Matrox Iris portal website.
