- If your strobe lamp has its own power source, connect auxiliary output 4
(AUX(USER)_IND_OUT4) or auxiliary output 5
(AUX(USER)_IND_OUT5) to the negative voltage (-V) of your strobe lamp.
For more information, refer to Connecting a powered strobe lamp to an auxiliary
output signal subsection of the Connecting external devices to auxiliary output
signals section, in Appendix D: Using the I/O signals of Matrox Iris GT.
If you need to control the intensity and timing of the strobe lamp, connect
AUX(USER)_IND_OUT4 to your strobe lamp. Matrox Iris GT auxiliary
output signal 4 is pulse-width modulated signal (PWM). It produces a series
of pulses that have a duty cycle proportional to the intensity setting in your
Matrox Design Assistant project.
AUX(USER)_IND_OUT4
If you only need to control the timing of the strobe lamp, connect
AUX(USER)_IND_OUT5 to your strobe lamp. Matrox Iris GT auxiliary
output signal 5 produces a pulse with a duration specified by your Matrox
Design Assistant project.
❖ Note that you cannot generate a strobe signal before the trigger or exposure signal
without using a hardware trigger from a third-party device.
