3.16 MENU CODE 10: SLOW FLOW
NOTE: If this is a two-sided dispenser, changing one side will automatically change the second side to
the same value as the first
During a sale when the quantity or price has been set to a pre-determined shut off amount (pre-paid
sale, volume allocation limit, or a local preset amount) the Slow-Flow setting determines when the flow
of fuel will reduce prior to reaching the pre-determined shut off amount. This ensures that the sale will
end at the correct amount and prevent a "prepay overrun".
Dispensers with higher flow rates will require a larger Slow Flow quantity stage than dispensers with
lower flow rates. The setting is displayed in thousandths of whatever unit is programmed in Menu Code
99 (i.e., gallons or liters). However, the display selection is in tenths from 2-9, see Figure 3.3.
EXAMPLE: A setting of 0.200 (default) on a dispenser programmed in gallons will reduce flow once the
total is 0.200 or 2/10 of gallons from the preset quantity.
IMPORTANT: If a site is experiencing slight prepay overruns, the Slow Flow setting may need to be
increased.
