2 HOW TO OPERATE

NOTE: If the dispenser stops during the delivery of fuel, check the display for an error code, refer to
Section 4.11 Error Codes.
NOTE: The dispenser must be authorized by the console or set to operate in stand-alone mode, see
Section 3.25 Menu Code 21: Communication Type.

2.1 DISPENSING FUEL

To activate the dispenser:
1. Pay if necessary.
2. Lift the nozzle from the nozzle boot, lift the nozzle handle switch. The displays will show all 8's
and then all 0's.
NOTE: If using the Local Preset option, the money or volume button must be pressed, and a value must
be entered before the lever is lifted.
3. Insert the nozzle into a fuel receptacle.
4. Squeeze the nozzle trigger to dispense fuel.
5. Release the nozzle trigger when the desired amount of fuel has been dispensed.
6. Lower the nozzle handle switch.
7. Replace the nozzle to the nozzle boot.

2.2 ERROR MESSAGES

When an error message appears on the display, there is a fault condition in the dispenser. Two digits will
follow the error message to indicate the cause of the error. Refer to Section 4.11 Error Codes.
To reset an error code, lift and lower the nozzle handle switch twice.

2.3 AC OFF MESSAGE

The AC OFF message will display during power interruption or disconnection.
Depending on the display configuration, the message will appear as shown in
Figure 2.1.
If the power is OFF and the AC OFF message does not appear, the charge is
low on the 12-volt battery. Recharge or replace the battery. Failure to
replace the battery could result in loss of dispenser electronic totals and
stand-alone operating data.
