Service engineer require message

3.3 Service engineer require message
This section explains the contents and treatment method in terms of the message about
the one that the service engineer correspondence is necessary, in maintenance call and
fatal error that raised to the preceding.

3.3.1 Maintenance call

This message appears in the control panel LCD to give the user advanced notice of a
consumable part nearing its life. Accordingly, printing is not stopped when this
message appears but continues until this is changed into a Service Call, at which time
printing is forced to stop in order to prevent damage to consumable parts.
It is preferable that a service engineer complete part replacement and corrective actions
while a maintenance call is active. (This reduces downtime.)
MAINTENANCE REQ. 0100
Problem
Indicates small quantity of remaining waste ink material absorption. Also indicates
pump cap unit is nearing life.
Explanation
To ensure optimum printing quality, this printer discharges ink from printer
internal components by cleaning and flushing. Absorbent material is established to
retain the discharged ink. The quantity of discharged ink is updated by replacing
the counter value, and when remaining capacity reaches 4% of 100% absorption
capacity, this message is displayed to notify the user that it is necessary to replace
the absorbent material. In addition, life for the pump cap unit is proportional to
waste ink quantity, so timing is the same. Printing is possible while this message is
displayed, but when remaining quantity reaches 0% the message will change to a
Service Call and printing will be stopped.
Solution
1.
Replace waste ink pads. (Refer to 4.3.3.1 "Replacing the Waste Ink Pads")
2.
Use Maintenance Mode 2 to reset the waste ink counter and cleaning unit
counter (for pump cap unit).
3.
Replace the pump cap unit. (Refer to 4.3.3.13 "Removing the Pump Cap
Unit")
NOTE: The above parts are supplied with the parts package "Maintenance Kit
(Waste Ink Pads/Pump Cap Unit), Stylus Pro 10000/10000CF."
