3.4.1 Dot Missing
Although automatic cleaning is performed by the dot missing detector, when the dot
missing detector is deliberately turned off or if it is not used for a long period of time,
sticky ink can be generated on the printhead nozzle surfaces and in the nozzles,
generating dot missing occurrences. If this situation occurs, it is recommended that
strong cleaning and initial filling be executed through Self-Diagnosis.
If head cleaning and initial filling cannot provide recovery, check the following points.
In the case that the faulty occurs to all the ink color nozzles.
Is the cap of the pump cap unit glued to the printhead during ink filling?
Are pump cap unit gears/motor working properly?
Is pump cap unit cap felt/cleaner head dirty?
In the case that the faulty occurs to special ink color.
Is head cleaner dirty?
Are connections between ink cartridge/ink holder/tube/sub-tank/printhead
defective? (Ink leaks from loose nuts or deformed/damaged O-rings should be
considered.)
Has printhead failed?
If the previously described corrective actions do lead to recovery, replace the
following electrical components and check condition again.

connection condition of the connection cable (FFC). Be specially
careful about angled insertion because it can cause damage to
circuits or elements inside the head when electrified.

3.4.2 Uneven Printing / Poor Resolution

Check the following items if print quality is defective (uneven, blurred images, etc.).
1.
Perform platen gap adjustment
Using the control-panel setting or the diagnostic-program function, check the
platen gap (bi-directional printing position as well as PG adjustment).
2.
If this error occurs only when the user prints on custom or thick paper, (Use the
control panel paper thickness setting to correct the paper size and the print position
(depending on the paper-thickness setting, the location where the ink strikes the
paper may change))
3.
With "maintenance mode 2", the correction value of "BI-D offset # 1 (speed
priority)/# 2 (quality priority)" tries to be changed.
4.
If this defective condition is generated immediately after replacement of the
C362DRV Board:
Doing the transplantation of the back-up parameter of an old board.
"D/A Adj." is run with the diagnostic operation mode.
5.
If improvement is not made with the above steps (adjustments), check the
following items with the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
Head slant adjustment
When using the Head slant adjustment functions, always perform
