Sending Commands to URI Acoustic Releases

Release commands can be sent to URI manufactured acoustic releases. In
addition, other transponder command functions, if available, can be operated
as long as the same type of command coding scheme is used.
To send commands to URI acoustic
releases:
1. Touch the Release/Range function
button.
The Release/Range screen opens.
2. Select University of Rhode Island
from the drop-down list as shown
in Figure 4-63.
The University of Rhode Island
pop-up opens as shown in
Figure 4-64.
3. Determine the release code for the
transponder. It will be a two-digit
number.
4. Using the left or right arrow, enter
the release code.
WARNING Before proceeding with
the next step, verify that the release
code is correct.
5. Touch—and hold—Send.
Three short beeps followed by a
long beep will be heard, and then the Send button will become
highlighted.
NOTE The command will be sent only after the Send button is released. To
abort the command, continue to maintain contact with the touch screen
display while sliding the finger completely off the Send button. The Send
button will become unhighlighted. If the command successfully aborts, a
pop-up will appear with the message "Transmission Aborted."
