4. As well as adding coolant to the
coolant reservoir, add coolant
directly through the radiator cap
opening until full.
5. Wait 30 seconds for the coolant
to settle.
6. Add more coolant if the level
drops.
Caution
Take care not to spill coolant on
the accessory drive belts.
If a spill occurs, rinse the belts
immediately with fresh water.
7. Start the engine.
8. Add coolant through the radiator
cap opening until full.
Wait 30 seconds and top up if
the level drops.
9. Replace the radiator cap.
10. Turn the ignition off.
11. Check the coolant reservoir
dipstick and add further coolant
if necessary, up to level (3).
Filling to this level provides
additional coolant to allow for any
air that may remain in the cooling
system.
Check the coolant reservoir level for
the next two days.
If the coolant requires regular
topping up, contact a Holden
Dealer.
The following may cause the
engine to temporarily operate at
high temperatures, especially on
hot days:
Climbing a long hill.
Stopping immediately after high
speed driving.
Idling for long periods in traffic.
Towing a heavily laden trailer or
caravan.
If the engine temperature gauge
shows H, switch off the air
conditioning.
