Chapter 6. Using the RAID Array Configurator

This chapter describes how to use the system management interface tool (SMIT) to
manage your SSA RAID arrays. The SMIT provides a set of menus from which you can
select the various functions of the ssaraid command. The ssaraid command allows
you to create, delete, and manage your RAID arrays.
If you prefer to use the ssaraid command through the command line interface instead
of through the menus, see Chapter 12, "Using the SSA Command Line Interface for
RAID Configurations". If you want to use the SMIT menus, remain in this chapter . Help
information is available from each SMIT menu.
This chapter has three main parts:
v "Installing and Configuring SSA RAID Arrays" on page 58
v "Dealing with RAID Array Problems" on page 89
v "Using Other Configuration Functions" on page 97
Note: If you select a List function from a SMIT menu, and no resource of the required
type exists, the following error pop-up window might be displayed:
For example, if you select Add a Disk to an SSA RAID Array, and no exposed
or degraded arrays exist, the error pop-up window is displayed.
