spare disk drives are not introduced if the Split Array Resolution flag is set to
| Secondary (secondary disk drives only are being used), the HotSpareSplits flag is set

to off, and all the primary disk drives and the other adapter are not visible.
Three types of array management problems can cause an array to be in the Offline
state to the using system:
v One half of the array is not present.
v The adapter is not known to the remaining half of the array.
v The split and join procedure was not performed correctly.
This section describes those problems, gives examples of possible causes, and
recommends recovery actions.

One Half of the Array Is Not Present

This condition produces SRN 48750.
This type of problem can be caused by:
v Disk drive failure
v Power failure in the using system
v Communication problems between two systems on the SSA network
