Software Upgrade Procedure

The 86038A is built on the 8801A performance network analyzer (PNA).
Firmware for the ODA is designed to work with a specific version of the
PNA firmware.
To Upgrade the firmware on the ODA:
1 Check the ODA website for firmware upgrades: www.agilent.com/comms/oct.
2 Download the latest software revision. For some upgrades both the PNA and
ODA firmware will need to be upgraded. Download the install packages for both
the ODA and PNA from the same table row.
3 Run the PNA Installer (when applicable). Versions higher than A.02.51 are not
currently supported.
• The installer can be launched by double-clicking on the executable.
• Select Easy Connection instead of More Secure.
• For all other prompts, select Next or Continue.
4 Run the ODA Installer.
• The installer can be launched by double-clicking on the executable.
• Select Next or Continue for all prompts.
5 (Optional) Download the ODA Remote Client Installer. Install this on computers
that will be used to remotely control the ODA. Do not install the Remote Client
on the ODA instrument itself. Refer to Chapter 5, "Remote Operation."
