7 Connect the normalization fiber from the test set Optical Output to Port 1.
8 From the Measurement menu, press Begin Norm. From the Normalization
Viewer,
a select Port 1 as the Active Port
b select Phase Dynamic Accuracy
Phase Dynamic Accuracy corrects for amplitude-to-phase conversion
effects in the network analyzer, in which the loss or gain changes with
wavelength. Although fiber does not exhibit extreme loss changes over
frequency range, a best practice is to correct for phase dynamic accuracy.
c select Normalize
The normalization will take approximately 8 minutes. The majority of this
time is used for the phase dynamic accuracy correction.
While normalization is running, data is plotted to the Normalization Viewer
graphs. The completed normalization is shown below.
