Troubleshooting Startup Problems

Problems
1 Check Connections
Ensure that the PNA is plugged in. If an external monitor is being used,
ensure it is plugged in and connected to the PNA. If this does not solve the
problem, continue with the next step.
2 Reload the C: Image
The Agilent ODA has the ability to backup and restore a hard drive image,
in case of operating system error. If the ODA is unable to boot into the
Windows 2000 option, please

271. If this does not solve the problem, continue with the next
step.
3 Replace the PNA
If the system does not restore from the hard disk recovery image, the PNA
will need to be replaced.
The ODA Application should launch automatically after Windows 2000
boots. If not, the application can be launched from the ODA shortcut on the
desktop, or from Start > Programs > Agilent Optical Dispersion Analyzer >
Agilent 86038A.
If you are able to successfully launch the ODA application in this way, it is
possible that AutoStart for the application has been disabled. To re-enable
AutoStart, go to C:\Program Files\Agilent\Optical Dispersion
Analyzer\Config, and double click on the "toggle ODA autostart.vbs" link.
A message will appear stating the status of AutoStart (enabled or
disabled) with the option to change. Ensure that AutoStart is enabled.
Similarly, ensure that the "toggle ODA loading autostart.vbs" link is
enabled.
When the application launches, it attempts to contact the tunable laser
source, the test set, and the multi-wavelength meter (when applicable). If
there is any difficulty in contacting these instruments, error messages will
