spanning-tree max-age

The spanning-tree max-age Global Configuration mode command configures the spanning tree bridge maximum
age. To restore the default configuration, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree max-age seconds
no spanning-tree max-age
Parameters
seconds — Time in seconds. (Range: 6-40)
Default Configuration
The default maximum age for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 20 seconds.

User Guidelines
When configuring the maximum age, the following relationships should be kept:
2*(Forward-Time - 1) >= Max-Age
Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1)
Example
The following example configures the spanning tree bridge maximum-age to 10 seconds.
