ip igmp snooping leave-time-out
The ip igmp snooping leave-time-out Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode command configures the leave-
time-out. If an IGMP report for a multicast group was not received for a leave-time-out period after an IGMP Leave
was received from a specific port, this port is deleted from the member list of that multicast group.To restore the
default configuration, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
ip igmp snooping leave-time-out {time-out | immediate-leave}
no ip igmp snooping leave-time-out
Parameters
•
time-out — Specifies the leave-timeout in seconds for IGMP queries. (Range: 0-2147483647)
•
immediate-leave — Indicates that the port should be immediately removed from the members list after
receiving IGMP Leave.
Default Configuration
The default leave-time-out configuration is 10 seconds.

User Guidelines
The leave timeout should be set greater than the maximum time that a host is allowed to respond to an IGMP
query.
Use immediate leave only where there is just one host connected to a port.
Example
The following example configures the host leave timeout to 60 seconds.
