garp timer

The garp timer Interface Configuration (Ethernet, Port channel) mode command adjusts the values of the join,
leave and leaveall timers of GARP applications. To restore the default configuration, use the no form of this
command.
Syntax
garp timer {join | leave | leaveall} timer_value
no garp timer
Parameters
{join | leave | leaveall} — Indicates the type of timer.
timer_value — Timer values in milliseconds in multiples of 10. (Range: 10-2147483640)
Default Configuration
Following are the default timer values:
Join timer — 200 milliseconds
Leave timer — 600 milliseconds
Leaveall timer — 10000 milliseconds

User Guidelines
The following relationship must be maintained between the timers:
Leave time must be greater than or equal to three times the join time.
Leave-all time must be greater than the leave time.
Set the same GARP timer values on all Layer 2-connected devices. If the GARP timers are set differently on Layer
2-connected devices, the GARP application will not operate successfully.
Example
The following example sets the leave timer for Ethernet port 1/6 to 900 milliseconds.
Console(config)# interface ethernet 1/6
