If the network sends both a name and number or a name is associated with the number then both the name
and number are flashed on the digital telephone set displays while the call is ringing them.
The Caller ID information is also shown if the extension is equipped with a standard phone which supports
the Caller ID service.
Note: Your telephone number will also be presented to persons you call, unless you restrict your number
from being presented.
Note: If the caller elects not to present their number, the ECX telephone set display will show "<Number
withheld>".
Note: A name and number will appear on the display when the received number, with an associated name,
is stored in the system speed-dial bin, or in Caller ID programming.

How a caller number is displayed at your extension

·
The caller's number will appear on the display of all digital telephone sets programmed to ring for
incoming calls.
·
If a name is associated with the number in either the system speed dial bin or the Caller ID store or is
received from the network, the name and number will be flashed while the call is ringing.
·
A caller may choose to withhold their identity. In this case, the display will show "Number Withheld"
instead of the caller's number or name.
·
If the number information is not available, the display will show "Number Withheld" instead of the
caller's number or name.
·
If more than one caller is calling at any one time, the number displayed will be that of the first call in
the queue. When this call is answered by one of the ringing digital telephone sets, the number of the
next call in the queue will appear on the Displays of the other ringing digital telephone sets.
·
If your digital telephone set is not ringing for the call, you may examine the incoming call ID by
selecting "Examine Incoming Call". The same information shown on the ringing digital telephone sets
is then displayed.

To associate a caller number with a name and route its calls to an extension

Up to 100 names, each a maximum of ten characters (including spaces), may be associated with caller
telephone numbers. When a number with an associated name is received, the name and number are flashed
on the display of ringing digital telephone sets.
Furthermore, an extension number may also be associated with a telephone number. In this case, an
incoming call from that number will automatically route to and ring at only that extension.
