Receiver Problems

Receiver Problems

The following are some of the most commonly encountered receiver problems.
The receiver cannot establish a connection to a computer or external controller.
The Daisy Chain mode is
still active.
The cable is not properly
plugged in.
The receiver cannot establish a connection to a computer or external controller.
The cable is damaged.
The receiver port used
for connection is not in
Command mode.
The receiver does not lock on to satellites for a long period of time.
The receiver stores an
old almanac.
The antenna cable is
damaged.

Causes
Turn off the Daisy Chain.
Check that the cable connector is attached to the correct serial
port.
Unplug the cable, then securely and properly reconnect it to the
receiver.
See "External Components" on page 1-11 and "Connector
Specifications" on page B-12 for information on the receiver's
connectors.
Causes
Use an undamaged cable.
Contact your Dealer to replace the cable.
Connect your receiver and a computer using a free port (see
"Connecting the Maxor and a Computer" on page 2-9) and start
PCView.
Click Configuration->Receiver->Ports.
Change the Input for the serial port used for connection to
Command.
Causes
Update the almanac. See "Collecting Almanacs" on page 2-44.
Use an undamaged cable.
Contact your Dealer to replace the cable.
