Note that in the event of a power domain failure, 100 percent of the CMM and fan tray power is
drawn from a single domain. However, the healthy domain has a complete set of power supplies
(assuming only single failures); that is, 50 percent is drawn from the "budget" supplies and 50
percent from the "redundant spare" supplies.
4.5.2

Cooling Capacity

The ZT 5085 chassis is designed to cool a maximum of 50 W per node slot and 80 W per fabric
slot. Air-management boards must be used in unused slots to properly maintain the cooling in other
slots.
4.6

Power Input

The following topics specify the various interfaces for the chassis' power input subsystem.
4.6.1

Power Feed Interface

The ZT 5085 platform supports configurations for AC or DC power input.
The following sections provide details for the AC and DC power input options.
4.6.1.1
AC Input
AC input power is provided via four IEC connectors labeled A1, B1, A2, and B2.
The A1 and B1 connections provide redundant power feeds to power tray 1, A1 to PS1 and PS3,
B1 to PS2 and PS4. For full redundancy, these connections must:
Have independent circuit breakers
Come from different sources (or at least different phases)
The A2 and B2 connections provide redundant power feeds to power tray 2, A2 to PS5 and PS7,
B2 to PS6 and PS8. For full redundancy, these connections must:
Have independent circuit breakers
Come from different sources (or at least different phases)
Circuit breakers should be rated based on maximum load at minimum voltage with two failed
feeds. The circuit breakers shall not be rated for more than 10A under any circumstance.
The ZT 5085 chassis includes EMI filters for each power feed to reduce line-conducted emissions.

4.6.1.2
DC Input
DC input power is provided via two DC line filters. These filters are labeled A and B. Each filter
has three terminals: -48 V DC, Return, and Chassis Ground. The terminals are designed for
connection with ¼ inch ring terminals.
