5. To prevent damage and keep foreign matter oul,
cover the disconnected connector and pipe end with
plastic bags.
QUICK CONNECT FITTING REMOVAL
(After '14)
fUEL PUMP SIDE
1. Relieve the fuel pressure (page 6-40).
2. Remove the quick connect fitting cover.
3. Check the fuel quick connect fitting for dirt and clean
if
necessary.
4 . Place a shop towel over the quick connect fitting.

5. Unlock the slide retainer of the quick connect fitting

by completely pulling it up.
6 . Release the quick connect fitting from the fuel joint
while holding the connector housing.
Prevent the remaining fuel in the fuel hose from
JOINT
flowing out, using a shop towel.
Be careful nol to damage the slide retainer and
hose.
Do not use tools.
