Installing Adaptec Storage Manager on Linux

Note: When performing this installation, keep in mind that
Linux is case sensitive.
To install Adaptec Storage Manager on a Linux computer and
configure the desired Internet browser:
1 Insert the HostRAID Installation CD.
2 Install the software by typing:
sh <mount-point>/install.sh
The <mount-point> differs among computers, but
/mnt/cdrom, /media/cdrom, or cdrom usually works.
A Welcome window appears.
3 Click Next.
The License Agreement window appears.
4 Read the license agreement. If you agree to its terms, click
Accept. If not, click Cancel and terminate the installation.
The Choose Setup Type window appears. It provides three
types of installations: Typical, Compact, and Custom. See
and Compact Installations on page 14-2
5 Choose a setup type and click Next.
The Start Copying window appears.
6 Click Next.
The Running Non-Interactive Setup window displays the files
being loaded onto the system.
7 Click Next when prompted.
A Setup Complete window appears.
8 Click Complete.
A message window appears reminding you that any proxy
servers must be bypassed for the RAID management
application to work.
