Those user extensions without a physical port are referred to as 'phantom' extensions.

The phone system has slots for SD cards which are used to store various files needed by the phone system. The System SD slot must always contain an Avaya IP Office Basic Edition SD card. Cards can be inserted while the system is running. However cards should only be removed while the system is shutdown.
