9. Check the condition of the belt and deck surfaces:
a. If the belt is worn, discard and replace with a new belt.
b. If the belt is replaced with a new belt, the top deck surface must also be new:
Check the condition of the deck bottom (flipped) surface:
i. If the bottom deck surface is in new condition, flip and reuse the deck
(new side on top).
ii. If the bottom deck surface is not in new condition, discard the deck and
replace with a new deck.
Installation Instructions
CAUTION: A new running belt replacement also requires a new deck surface. A
used deck can be reinstalled if the flipped side deck surface is new condition. if not
new, replace the deck.
1. Install the deck into the running belt making sure that the deck and belt direction is cor-
rectly oriented. :
a. Deck Orientation: For new belt installations, a new deck surface must be used.
If the removed deck bottom side (flip side) is new condition, then flip the deck
and reuse (new surface on top). If the bottom side (flip side) of the deck used
(worn, not new), then discard the used deck and replace with a new deck.
b. Running Belt Orientation: The running belt must be Installed with the correct dir-
ection of travel or the belt will be damaged. The top of the belt must travel from
the front to the rear of the treadmill. Use the following two direction indicators to
correctly determine the belt travel direction:
1) The Run direction arrow (printed on the inside of the belt right edge) is
pointing to the rear of the treadmill when positioned on the top of the deck.
2) The distance between the slashes in the Precor Direction Logo get closer
together as the logo progresses towards the rear of the machine, see the fol-
lowing figure.
