TS2900 Tape Autoloader Setup, Operator, and Service Guide
Description
The library mechanism has a
hardware fault that is not
mechanism related, or requires
power cycle to recover.
The library has identified an
interface fault.
Library preventative maintenance
required.
A cartridge has been left in the drive
inside the library by a previous
hardware fault.
There is a potential problem with the
drive ejecting a cartridge short or
with the library mechanism picking
a cartridge from a slot.
There is a potential problem with the
library mechanism placing a
cartridge into a slot.
The operation has failed because the
library I/O Station is open.
Mechanical problem with the I/O
Station.
Library magazine not present.
Library manually turned offline.
Action Required
1. Cycle the power supply and try
again.
2. If the problem persists, see
"Contacting IBM Technical
Support" on page 7-1.

connections.

Preventative maintenance of the
library is required. Consult the library
user's manual for device-specific
preventative maintenance tasks.
1. Try unloading the cartridge from
the drive using the Operator Panel
or Web User Interface.
• If the cartridge unloads, move
the cartridge from the drive to
the I/O Station. Remove the
cartridge and inspect for
damage. If not damaged, return
the cartridge to the library. Run
Library Verify before resuming
normal library operations.
• If the cartridge did not unload
from the drive, cycle the power
supply and try again.
2. If the problem persists, see
"Contacting IBM Technical
Support" on page 7-1.
