To adjustment the RCP saddle heights:
1. Ensure the mast is in the nested position with the RCP resting on the saddles.
2. Ensure power is removed from the system according to the Power Isolating Procedure
(Section 5.2.)
3. Lift up on the RCP or other payload to create slack. Do not lift up on the Light Fixtures as
this will damage the RCP tilt shaft or alter the tilt home position.
4. Loosen the bolts holding the slotted saddles in place on both sides and move the
saddles up on each side until the bumpers contact the RCP housing or other payload
taking up the slack. Ensure both sides are at the same height to avoid inducing a torque
on the RCP housing in the nested position. Once properly positioned, tighten the saddle
bolts.

6.2 Adjust Side Saddles

The side saddles are adjusted in the factory for new masts and support the mast during side-to-
side vehicle dynamic loading. Over time, vibration during transportation and wear may cause
the RCP and payload to exhibit excessive side-to-side motion or misalignment of the Top
Section. If excessive side-to-side motion is observed, the side saddle wear pads (Figure 6-2)
may be adjusted to better support the mast upper section.
To make an adjustment to the side saddle wear pads:
1. Ensure the mast is in the nested position with the RCP resting on the RCP saddles.
2. Ensure power is removed from the system according to the Power Isolating Procedure
(Section 5.2).
3. Loosen the fasteners holding the side saddle wear pads. Slide the wear pads along the
bracket such that the gap between the wear pad and the square upper section tube on
each side is 0.25 mm (0.010 inches).
4. Tighten the wear pad fasteners in place.
5. Operate the mast to ensure the mast properly aligns with the adjusted side saddle and
properly nests.
