2.6.1.4 Secure the Junction Box

The Junction Box shall be installed inside an enclosure such as the cab of a vehicle or storage
compartment and shielded from the weather conditions. The Junction Box area shall be free of
loose items that could inadvertently contact and activate the start button during dynamic vehicle
operation.
To install the Junction Box:
1. Using the Junction Box as a template, drill four mounting holes into the mounting
structure. The mounting holes should be sized as appropriate for the mounting hardware
being used. The Junction Box is designed to use up to M6 (¼ inch) mounting hardware.
2. Secure the Junction Box using four sets of customer-provided stainless steel hardware.
Torque all hardware as appropriate for its material and size. The mounting hardware
must include proper means to resist vibration loosening such as thread-locking
compound or locking hardware. The recommended installation torque for M6 Stainless
Steel bolts is 7-8 Nm (5-6 ft-lb.).
Note: An Operation Label (P/N: 5555101) ships loose with the Mast System for Night Scan Lite.
This label includes important warning symbols also located on the Mast Assembly. This label
shall be applied in a location visible to the operator while operating the mast system. Will-Burt
recommends installing beside the Junction Box. Clean the mounting structure before applying
the labels. The operation label is required near the operator station for compliance to NFPA
1901.

2.6.1.5 Install Additional Accessories (Optional)

Depending on the configuration of the Mast System, optional components selected, or the
installation environment, additional accessories may need installed. Install any additional
accessories as appropriate.
General installation procedures to keep in mind when installing optional accessories:
Ensure system power is disconnected when installing any additional accessories.
Unless otherwise indicated, the mounting hardware must include proper means to resist
vibration loosening such as thread-locking compound or locking hardware. Torque all
hardware as appropriate for its size and grade.
See Section 2.6.2 for information on electrical installations.
Contact The Will-Burt Company with any questions before performing any installation
procedures.
