Troubleshooting Guide

SYSTEM DATA SYNCHRONIZATION

SHARING OPERATIONS

SYMPTOM
Unable to initiate sync following
an MiVoice Business software
upgrade/ downgrade. Sync
button is grayed out.
When you click the Sync button
in Network Elements form, you
receive the following Internet
Explorer script error:
"Object doesn't support this
property or method"
The Start Sharing operation has
not displayed any signs of
progress for more than an hour
(that is the operation appears to
be hung).
Cannot start sharing with an
element

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Browser cache contains stale
Sys Admin Tool data which is
preventing the sync from
working.
Internet Explorer security
settings are preventing the
synchronization.
Your Internet Explorer session is
timing out before the Start
Sharing operation is complete.
SDS is not enabled on the
remote element.
Remote element not included in
data sharing community.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Clear the browser cache.
In Internet Explorer: press
CTRL+SHIFT+DEL, select Temporary
Internet Files, and clear Preserve
Favorites website data Leave other
check boxes cleared, and then click OK.
In Firefox: press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL,
select Everything for "Time range to
clear" and Cache, then click OK.
1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools and
then click Internet Options.
2. Click the Security tab and then click
Local internet.
3. Click Sites and then click Advanced.
4. Add the IP address of the 3300 ICP to
the zone.
5. Close all Internet Explorer windows
and then relaunch Internet Explorer.
6. Log back into the 3300 Controller.
7. Access the Network Elements form,
select the controller and click Sync.
Install the required Internet Explorer
registry file on your PC. The registry file
extends your Internet Explorer session
and prevents it from timing out before a
Start Sharing is complete. Refer to Mitel
Knowledge Base article 07-3849-01068
on Mitel Online for instructions.
Ensure SDS is enabled in the System
Options form of the remote element.
Ensure that the remote (slave) element
has been brought into the data sharing
community. See "Start Sharing with a
New Element" in the System
Administration Tool online help for
instructions. You must always bring a
new element into an existing data
sharing community from an element that
is already in the data sharing community.
