INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY INTRODUCTION This document describes, in MiVoice 5000, how to install and configure EX Controller and GX Gateway. TERMINOLOGY TERMS AND EXPRESSIONS EX Controller: A unit comprising a deployment tool and a MiVoice 5000 Server.

INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY DESCRIPTION The EX Controller platform is a box containing: • Two virtual machines (one for deployment, the other for a Mitel Call Manger), • Cards on the front panel allowing the connection of: Analogue terminals, Digital trunks, Analogue trunks.

EX controller contains only one ExDeploy image, which allows MiVoice 5000 to be installed on one of the supplied virtual machines. The ExDeploy tool is used to import and install a Mitel PBX KVM image (MiVoice 5000 Server) and all the necessary settings for network configuration.

INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY In the directory in question, select the file exdeploy-1.1.1.1.x.zip (latest version available). The compressed file is taken into account, click Check for updates. The file is downloaded. Wait for the download to finish.

After EX restarts, Exdeploy is stopped and MiV5000 automatically starts and configures its IP address entered in the LAN configuration section. This may take 2 or 3 minutes. The total is done and the local EX is configured.

INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY In the General Settings tab, view the configuration made automatically: • The general settings status is set to Correct. • The value V3 is assigned for SNMP (mandatory). Then refer to Operating manual AMT/PTD/PBX/0080 for information on how to enter the ID, license, and to Section 5 for information on how to configure subscribers and network access.
INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY GX GATEWAY The IP address of GX Gateway is set by default to 192.168.0.10. Connect a PC to one of the GW Gateway's ETH ports 2-5 on the same subnet.
INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY ADDITIONAL CONFIGURATIONS DECLARING ANALOGUE SUBSCRIBERS Analogue terminals managed by EX Controller or GX Gateway are seen as SIP terminals connected to subscriptions declared in MiV5000. The subscription must be created beforehand if it does not exist like any other terminal (refer to Operating manual AMT/PTD/PBX/0080).

INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY The terminals can be connected: Viewing In the Terminals tab of Menu Telephony Service>Subscribers>Subscriptions>Characteristics, the terminals are displayed as SIP terminals and the box Analogue terminal on EX/GX is ticked indicating that these analogue terminals are associated with EX/GX.
INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY DECLARING TRUNKS Analogue or digital trunks connected to an EX are seen as SIP trunks on MiV5000. To configure the paths/routes associated with these trunks, refer to Operating manual AMT/PTD/PBX/0080.
INSTALLING AND CONFIGURING MITEL EX CONTROLLER AND MITEL GX GATEWAY When the PRI slot is assigned (box ticked), a table appears at the bottom to define the type of signalling (ETSI or QSIG) and the behaviour (master/slave). Once the choice is made, click Apply Changes.
