CHECKING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
ASSEMBLY
1. Check:
• Rear shock absorber rod
Bends/damage Replace the rear shock
absorber assembly.
• Rear shock absorber assembly
Gas leaks/oil leaks Replace the rear shock
absorber assembly.
• Spring
Damage/wear Replace the rear shock ab-
sorber assembly.
• Bearing
• Bolt
Bends/damage/wear Replace.

RELAY ARM
1. Check:
• Connecting arm
• Relay arm
Damage/wear Replace.
2. Check:
• Bearing
• Oil seal
Damage/pitting Replace.
3. Check:
• Collar
Damage/scratches Replace.

ASSEMBLING THE CONNECTING ARM
1. Lubricate:
• Collar
• Oil seal
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease
2. Install:
• Bearing "1"
• Oil seal "2"
New
TIP
• When installing the oil seals "2" to the connect-
ing arms "3", face the character stamp of the oil
seals outside.
• Install the bearing to the connecting arm by
pressing the character stamped side.
