TROUBLESHOOTING

Any of the following fail to light: headlight, auxiliary light, high beam indicator light, tail/brake light, li-
cense plate light, meter light or storage box light.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Leg shield assembly
2. Front cowling assembly
3. Mudguard
1. Check the each bulbs and bulb
sockets condition.
Refer to "CHECK THE BULBS
AND BULB SOCKETS" in "BASIC
INFORMATION" (separate vol-
ume).
OK
2. Check the fuses.
(Main, headlight, ignition, signaling
system and taillight)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUS-
ES" on page 8-93.
OK
3. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-94.
OK
4. Check the ignition system relay.
Refer to "CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS" on page 8-94.
OK
5. Check the diode.
(Diode 3)
Refer to "CHECKING THE DI-
ODES" on page 8-101.
OK
6. Check the dimmer switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-91.
OK
7. Check the pass switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-91.
OK
NG Replace the bulb(s) and bulb socket.
NG Replace the fuse(s).
• Clean the battery terminals.
NG
• Recharge or replace the battery.
NG Replace the ignition system relay.
NG Replace the diode.
The dimmer switch is faulty. Replace the
NG
handlebar switch (left).
The pass switch is faulty. Replace the
NG
handlebar switch (left).
