PLEASE NOTE THE SYSTEM EXPANSION CARD IS ONLY USED FOR PCX 256 SYSTEMS
This chapter highlights the means of providing additional and expanded facilities.
Expansion of the system is by means of 'MSX' cards that slot into the end station to provide enhanced
specifications.

15.2.1 RS-232 Connection
A connector is provided on the MSX card to permit direct connection (with an appropriate loom) to the RS-
232 serial port of a PC running PCX UDL software in order to provide full Engineer access facilities, etc. from
the PC.
15.2.2 Outputs (PGMs)
Up to 8 ROX modules (with 16 outputs each) may be used on systems fitted with MSX cards.
15.2.3 Output (PGM) Types
Output type 035 'Follow Input' is only available with an MSX card fitted.
In addition to the simple 'follow' function, this output type can be programmed (individually) to be active for a
specified time or to latch on until reset.
It is also possible to select the output to be active only when the relevant partition (in which the input is
located) is armed or disarmed, or to be active always.
A further option permits an output to be programmed to follow a partition, a shunt or a sub-partition, as
alternatives to individual inputs.
