4.2.3 Operation using HII

Create Virtual Drive
This chapter describes the procedure for creating the Virtual Drive by the HII. Before creating the Virtual Drive, be
sure to read the precautions described below carefully.
1.
The Physical Device of the Drive Group should have the same rotation speed, and other specifications.
2.
After building the Virtual Drive, be sure to perform the Consistency Check.
3.
To install the Virtual Drive under this RAID controller to the OS, create only the Virtual Drive for
installation to OS.
Select "Configuration Management" from the HII main menu, and press the <Enter> key.
The RAID configuration management screen [Configuration Management Menu] is displayed. Select "Create
Virtual Drive – Advanced", and press the <Enter> key.
Tips
In the first Consistency Check after building the Virtual Drive, a lot of inconsistencies
may be detected. However, it is not a problem.
Important
This RAID controller does not support the "Create Virtual Drive".
Be sure to select "Create Virtual Drive –Advanced".
