Manual Rebuild
Swapping the dead Physical Device by the Hot Swap (hot line insertion/removal) allows you to perform the
Rebuild. In case that the Physical Device was swapped after turning the power of the server OFF, the Auto
Rebuild function may not be operated. In such case, recover the Virtual Drive by the Manual Rebuild function
described below.
1.
Start up "Ctrl-R". Check that the status of the Physical Device displayed under "Unconfigured Drives"
of the tree is "Ready". In the example, the Physical Device of slot number 2 is swapped.
2.
Move a cursor on "Drive Group", and press the <F2> key. In the operation menu, place a cursor on
"Manage Ded. HS", and press the <Enter> key.
Important
For the Rebuild function of swapping the Physical Devices by the Hot
Swap, swap the disks after starting up the OS or Ctrl-R.
You can check the progress of the Rebuild by the "Universal RAID Utility"
screen or by placing a cursor on the Physical Device whose status is
"Rebuild" on the "VD Mgmt" screen of "Ctrl-R".
Tips
The display "Missing" under Drives means "the Physical Device of the VD installed
to the slot number 2 does not exist or is out of the configuration".
