Chapter 2 Useful Features
The following settings are available for the disk cache setting (Disk Cache Policy). Configure the settings
according to your environment.

Delete Virtual Drive
This chapter describes the procedure for deleting the Virtual Drive by the "Ctrl-R".
Move a cursor to the Virtual Drive to be deleted in the "VD Mgmt" screen, and press the <F2> key.
The operation menu is displayed. Place a cursor on "Delete VD", and press the <Enter> key.
After a warning message is displayed, place a cursor on "Yes" and press the <Enter> key to delete the Virtual
Drive.
Use the default setting of the Physical Device.
Because the default setting of the Physical Device may be different from the
setting at the shipment, do not use this setting.
In this mode the write cache of the Physical Device is always used.
Be sure to use the uninterruptible power system (UPS) for this setting.
In this mode the write cache of the Physical Device is not used.
The performance is inferior to the Enable setting described above. However, the
safety and security is the highest from the viewpoint of the data save.
We recommend you to use this setting from the viewpoint of the data save.
Important
"Unchanged" of the disk cache setting is not supported.
"Enable" of the disk cache setting allows you to use the write cache of
the Physical Device. Therefore, the data in the cache memory of the
Physical Device may be deleted during the power outage.
Be sure to use the uninterruptible power system (UPS) for the write cache
of the Physical Device.
Important
Before performing the operation, make sure that the data required for the
selected Virtual Drives is backed up. Take extreme care not to fail in the
Virtual Drive.
