Locate
The Locate command makes an LED on Physical Device light or blink to confirm the location of the slot. We
recommend you to check the slot of Physical Device before adding Virtual Drive (VD) or Hot Spare disks,
reconstructing VD, or replacing Physical Device.
Start up "Ctrl-R", and switch the display to the "PD Mgmt" screen. Place a cursor on the Physical Device for which
Locate is performed, and then press the <F2> key. Place an cursor on "Locate" of the operation menu, press the
<Enter> key. Additionally, move a cursor on "Start", and press the <Enter> key.

Initialization of Virtual Drive
The Initialize function is to perform zero-write of the top or entire area of the Virtual Drive data for initializing.
There are 2 types of the Initialize operation.

Tips
For the Physical Device of the Virtual Drive, you can perform "Locate" from the "VD
Mgmt" screen. Similarly to the "PD Mgmt" screen, you can perform "Locate" from
the F2 menu of the Physical Device for which "Locate" is performed ("Locate" →
"Start").
Starts Full Initialize for the Virtual Drive. The Full Initialize is a function to clear the entire area of
the Virtual Drive as "0". This is displayed also as "Slow Initialize".
Starts Fast Initialize for the Virtual Drive.
When the Fast Initialize is performed, clear only the head sector where the partition information
is written.
Important
"Initialization" initializes the Virtual Drive. Before performing the operation,
make sure that the data required for the selected Virtual Drives is backed up.
Take extreme care not to fail in the Virtual Drive.
