Chapter 2 Useful Features
(b)-1 RAID controller
The numbers of Drive Groups, Virtual Drives and Physical Devices (Drives) created in this RAID controller
are displayed.
You can create the Virtual Drive or clear the configuration from the operation menu. To open the operation
menu, press the <F2> key with the cursor placed on the controller name.
(b)-2 Drive Group
The RAID level set in the Drive Group is displayed. Virtual Drives, Physical Devices (Drives), and Hot Spare
disks (Hot spare drives) that are created in the Drive Group, and the Virtual Drive capacity (Available size)
that can be additionally created in the Drive Group are displayed in the tree view.
(b)-3 Virtual Drives
Shows logical drive (Virtual Drive) state, RAID level, background task (Operation), and progress of
background task. Shows drive group information which have the logical drive.
For the status and background task of the Virtual Drive, refer to [Status (State) of Virtual Drive] and
[Operation for Virtual Drive].
State Indication of Virtual Drive
Optimal
Part.Deg.
Degraded
Offline
Indicates that the VD is in normal state.
Indicates that one of the Physical Devices in the relevant VD is degraded but
the VD is still redundant. For example, one Physical Device is degraded in
RAID6/60 configuration.
Indicates that the Physical Device of the related Virtual Drive is degraded and
is not redundant.
The VD is in offline state.
