WARNING:
1. It is dangerous to ride with a wornout
tire. When a tire tread begins to show
lines, replace the tire immediately.
2. Patching a punctured tube is not recom-
mended. If it is absolutely necessary to
do so, use great care and replace the tube
as soon as possible with a good quality
replacement.
3. After extensive tests, the tires mentioned
below have been approved by Yamaha
motor Co., Ltd. for this model. No
guarantee for handling characteristics
can be given if tire combinations other
than what is approved are used on this
motorcycle.
'The front and rear tires should be of the
same manufacture and design.
WHEEL INSPECTION
1. Inspect:
-Wheels
Damage/ Bends.-+ Replace.
NOTE:
_
Always balance the wheel when a tire or wheel
has been changed or replaced.
WARNING:
Never attempt even small repairs to the
wheel.
2. Tighten:
- Valve stem locknut
~
1.5 Nm (0.15 m-kg, 1.1 ft-Ib)

Ride conservatively after installing a tire to
allow it to seat itself properly on the rim.
SPOKE INSPECTION AND TIGHTENING
1. Inspect:
-Spokes
Bend/ Damage-+ Replace.
Loose spoke-+ Retighten.
2. Tighten:
-Spokes
Spoke Nipple:
6 Nm (0.6 m-kg, 4.3 ft-Ib)
