IGNITION TIMING CHECK

5. Tighten:
-Spark plug(s)
Before installing a spark plug, clean the
gasket and plug surfaces.
Spark Plug:
17.5 Nm (1.75 m.kg, 12 ft·lb)
NOTE: _
Finger-tighten the spark plug(s) before torquing
to specification.
IGNITION TIMING CHECK
1. Remove:
- Blind plug (Upper and lower)
CD
2. Attach:
-Inductive Tachometer
-Inductive Timing Light
To spark plug lead.
Inductive Tachometer:
PIN YU-OB036
Inductive Timing Light:
PIN YU-33277
3. Warm up the engine and allow it to idle at the
specified -speed.

4. Check:
-Ignition timing
Visually check the crankcase cover mark

is within the firing range
CD
indicated on the
rotor.
Incorrect firing
range~Check
flywheel
and/ or pickup assembly (Tightness da-
mage).
5. Install:
-Blind plug (Upper and lower)
